We spied collections of unusual items used in window display and in store ambiance throughout Europe. Some of our favorites were most unexpected…from clusters of light bulbs at Bluebird to white porcelain monk statuettes at Conran, collections instantly create atmosphere and set the stage for directional fashion and home looks. Perhaps the most absurd was a series of pink balloons slip covered in women’s lingerie.  The beauty with collections is that you can create art that makes you happy out of the most mundane or unlikely objects.

The British invasion is alive and well on the fashion avenues of Europe. Vintage to contemporary versions of the Union Jack…adorned tee shirts and accessories to home furnishings…with actual flags hung in stores throughout the fashion capitals. Traditionally colored or re-colored in black and white to bright tones, this emblem of irreverence and tradition is perfect for the times.

Looking back never looked so good! Cabbage roses to peonies in bold to painterly styles explode for Spring/Summer RTW and accessories.  Dramatic on black grounds to feminine on pastel or neutral grounds, maxi scale florals create dramatic impressions this season.
